06/19/1999: Unidentified armed bandits, suspected to be from neighboring Chad and Niger, killed over 100 people in Taraba state, Nigeria. Over 200 victims received treatment at the Taraba state hospital in Jalingo. Reports noted that nursing mothers and babies were primarily affected by the attack, suffering serious wounds that were inflicted by machetes.
