Incident Summary:

08/04/1999: Heavily armed former junta soldiers demanding food, medicines and the release of their leader, Lt. Col. Johnny Paul Koroma, seized thirty hostages in Magbini, Sierra Leone. The hostages included five British soldiers who were working as United Nation observers, other UN staff and journalists. All hostages were released by August 10, 1999.
