Incident Summary:

09/29/1999: Harakat ul-Mujahidin (HuM) gunmen fired grenades at the state government building in Srinagar, India. Five security officers and a government clerk were killed in the blast and buildings in the area were damaged. As the gunmen fled, they got into a shootout with police at a nearby building and killed a constable during the firefight.
