Incident Summary:

01/03/2000: Ten months prior to the bombing of the USS Cole in the Gulf of Aden, the perpetrators responsible for the USS Cole attack attempted a similar attack against the USS The Sullivans. The explosives-laden boat sank before reaching the USS The Sullivans, however the perpetrators salvaged the boat and the explosives and used both in the attack on the USS Cole.
