Incident Summary:

01/03/2000: Unidentified perpetrators placed a bomb constructed from small gas canisters outside a branch of the National Bank of Greece in Athens, Greece. The device was spotted by a bank security guard and defused before it detonated. This attempted bombing took place among a series of bombings by anarchists targeting bank branches over the course of several days. No group claimed responsibility for this attack, though authorities suspect it was carried out by anarchists who had claimed responsibility for similar attacks.
