The raid on the El Bordo Prison was the largest of its kind in nearly two years. Reports did not indicate how many of the escaped prisoners were FARC rebels. In addition to the prison attack the rebels looted the government-run Farmers' Bank and made off with an unspecified amount of money. |

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
