Incident Summary:

05/15/2000: In Chiquinquira, Colombia, members of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) barged into the home of Elvia Cortez and strapped an explosive necklace to her. The bomb squad was called and they moved her to a secluded rural highway to defuse the bomb. They were unsuccessful and she was killed. A bomb technician was also killed and three soldiers were wounded.
