Incident Summary:

6/19/2000: An explosive device was discovered in a park near Hillsborough Castle outside of Belfast, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Hillsborough Castle is the official residence of the Queen, but Britain's minister for Northern Ireland, Peter Mandelson, was the current resident. The device had partially exploded when it was found. Authorities blame Republican dissidents for the attempted attack.
