8/12/2000: A grenade that was hidden in a garbage can detonated near a famous shrine by Dal Lake, in Srinagar, India. Four people were injured in the attack, including two Hungarian tourists. Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), a pro-Pakistan group, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group called on the public to boycott the independence day celebrations.
