Incident Summary:

8/9/2000: Suspected members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) set off an explosive device that detonated in the vicinity of a military bus near Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. One child was killed and at least 25 sailors and five civilians were injured in the explosion. Authorities believe that the explosion was caused by a claymore mine.
