10/01/2000: In the Kalasog Village of Davao City, Philippines, forty New People’s Army (NPA) rebels ambushed a group of soldiers and civilians who were part of a medial mission in Santo Ramos, Davao del Norte. The perpetrators first set off a landmine, then began shooting at the group, which had been returning from their mission at the time of the attack.
