Incident Summary:

12/13/2000: Militants attempted to assassinate Ali Mohammad Sagar, the Public Works Minister, during the inauguration of a new bridge in Arwani village, Anantnag district of south Kashmir, India. The attackers threw grenades at Sagar and opened fire, but the minister managed to escape unharmed. At least 15 people, mostly police, were injured in the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
