2/12/2001: Maoist rebels attacked Thaneshwor Poudel, a teacher at Uday Higher Secondary School located in Shantipur, Gulmi district, Nepal. The assailants cut off Poudel's limbs but did not kill him; he was airlifted to Kathmandu for medical care the next day. The motive behind the attack is unknown.
