Incident Summary:

02/21/2001: A 14-year-old boy suffered severe injuries including the loss of a hand and blindness after he picked up a torch bomb outside the Territorial Army barracks where he attended school. The device was found to contain the military grade explosive, Semtex, which lead officials to believe that a terrorist organization may have planted the bomb. Local authorities believed that the device could have been planted by members of the Real IRA, although no group claimed responsibility for the attack.
