Incident Summary:

03/17/2001: Unidentified gunmen shot Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, National Conference block president, in his home around 9:45pm in Kulipora village, Kashmir region, India. Ganai later died from his injuries. A police officer, Abdul Majid, was wounded in the shooting. No group claimed responsibility for the attack although sources blame suspected militants.
