Incident Summary:

4/1/2001: Suspected members of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) invaded the home of a family in Ain Agba, Algeria. The assailants slit the throats of five individuals at the residence and also planted homemade bombs at the house. Sources conflict at to whether the bombs detonated when the bodies were discovered (injuring one individual) or if the bombs were located and defused by responding Algerian security forces.
