5/1/2001: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, used an explosive to break into a home of a family in Koutitene, Algeria. The assailants proceeded to shoot or stab all of the individuals within the residence. Five people were killed and one was wounded.
