Incident Summary:

05/29/2001: In one of two related incidents, Molotov cocktails were suspected to have been thrown at the home of the Golkar Party's South Lampung District Head, Zulkifli Anwar in Pahoman, Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Zulkifli Anwar was not home at the time of the attack and no casualties resulted from the incident. The perpetrators were neither identified nor apprehended. A spokesman for the political party claimed that the blast was part of a campaign of political terrorism designed to intimidate the Golkar Party from pursuing the impeachment of the Indonesian President.

The Vice Chairman of Lampung's Golkar Party, Martubi Makki, said that the bombing was intended to instigate chaos, and to intimidate the Golkar Party, discouraging them from moving towards impeaching Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid.
