09/02/2001: Andal Ampatuan, governor of the southern province of Maguindanao, was unharmed when armed men believed to be Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) members fired at his convoy in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao, injuring four of his bodyguards. MILF did not claim responsibility for the attack.
