Incident Summary:

9/02/2001: Armed members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) kidnapped Ramiro Carranza, an official with the Administrative Department of Security's Alien Affairs Department, from his home in Puente Quetame, Colombia. Although FARC made no official claim of responsibility, it was thought that this kidnapping could have been related to ongoing peace talks between FARC and the Colombian government.
