Incident Summary:

01/06/2002: Six members of a Hindu family, including four children, were killed by suspected Muslim militants in Indian Kashmir. The attackers threw hand grenades and opened fire on a house which belonged to a member of the village defense committee in Banihal village, 160 kilometers (100 miles) north of Jammu. The militant group could not be identified.
