Incident Summary:

01/12/2002: Armed militants surrounded a market in Tripura, India and fired into the crowd, killing 12 people and wounding 13 others. Two groups of militants of the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) surrounded the market in the Singicherra area in Tripura and opened fire. The militants then escaped. The wounded were admitted to hospitals in Agartala. Ten were reportedly in serious condition.
