Incident Summary:

2/2/2002: Members of National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) attacked the port town of Baia Farta, Benguela province, Angola. 14 people were killed in the attack, including three of the assailants. Approximately ten civilians were injured as well. The attackers looted stores and private residences around the town. Before fleeing, UNITA stole 50 head of livestock and adbucted at least 40 residents. Two of the assailants were captured by security forces.
