Incident Summary:

03/04/2002: Seven people were killed and three were wounded after an attack by suspected National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) rebels in the Chiede commune, in Namacunde municipality, Cunene Province, Angola. The rebels also kidnapped three civilians, including one nurse. No information was available regarding their release. According to local government sources, the attack was carried out by sixty rebels who wielded AKM assault rifles and 80mm mortar shells.
