Incident Summary:

4/18/2002: A bomb exploded in a private residence on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Bagmati Zone, Nepal. The home belonged to an adviser to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. No one was injured in the explosion, but the building was damaged. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities suspect that Maoist rebels were involved. The explosion occurred just days before the beginning of a five day strike called for by the rebels.
