Incident Summary:

4/24/2002: Maoist guerrillas blew up the country home of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Assigram, Mahakali Zone, Nepal. Approximately 100 assailants raided the home, ordered the house staff to leave, then detonated explosives; no one was harmed. The attack occurred on the second day of a five day strike ordered by the Maoists; the strike was in response to a state of emergency that was called for by the government several months previous.
