5/1/2002: Unknown perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, slit the throats of three civilians returning to their home in Sidi Abdurrahman, Algeria. Additionally, the assailants took an Algerian woman hostage. The fate of the kidnapped victim remains unknown.
