Incident Summary:

05/10/2002: Suspected members of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC)kidnapped, then executed former mayoral candidate Eliseo Acevedo in San Pablo, Colombia. The perpetrators, dressed in Colombian military uniforms, shot Acevedo, an Uribista, 18 times. No group claimed responsibility for the attacks, but local authorities believed the attack was part of a larger FARC operation to kill several anit-demilitarization leaders in the region.
