Incident Summary:

9/19/2002: Militants stormed into a government high school in Jamalsan, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The assailants separated the Hindu teachers and students from the rest of the group; they opened fire on the Hindu group. One teacher and one student were killed in the attack. The attackers fled following the incident and no group claimed responsibility. The attack occurred during escalated violence leading up to the second round of state elections.
