12/23/2002: Around twenty perpetrators, believed to be affiliated with the Islamic insurgency in Algeria, ambushed municipal guardsmen and militiamen on a personal transport vehicle travelling on a road near Beni Milenk, Algeria. One individual was killed and two others were wounded. It is unknown if the vehicle was damaged.
