Incident Summary:

02/16/2003: Maoist guerrillas (Naxalites) shot dead a former village head in Srigeri Pado Village, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh State, India. The Naxalites accused the village head of being a police informer. In the same incident, the Naxalites attempted to blow up a telephone exchange which was inside the former village head's building.
