03/22/2003: Chechen rebels attacked a polling station at a school in the Chechen village of Alkhan-Kala, destroying the school two days before a constitutional referendum vote. The Chechen commander said most of the guards of the school were either killed or injured in the attack, but numbers and the validity of his statement were unknown.
