04/09/2003: An Indian Home Guard member, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, was kidnapped by suspected unknown militants from his home in the middle of the night and then killed. The next day, the body of Bhat was found with his throat slit near a mosque in Kanthpora Sogam, Kupwara district, India.
