Incident Summary:

06/14/2003: Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a top Tamil politician who was the leader of the Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The victim, Mr. Subathran, was known for his opposition to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). No group claimed responsibility for the assassination, but there had been several similar attacks that the Sri Lankan government had blamed on the LTTE in the region prior to the attack.
