Incident Summary:

06/17/2003: Suspected Islamic militant gunmen entered the house of Ali Mohammed Bhat in the village of Khiram, India, shooting and killing Bhat’s son. Bhat worked for the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) and authorities believed that he was the intended target of the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the shooting.
