Incident Summary:

01/12/2004: Rebels killed 18 at the Gihanga commune some 30 kilometers northwest of Bujumbura, Burundi. Five government soldiers were killed in the attack along with 12 civilians, 1 assailant was also killed. The attack was attributed to the National Liberation Front (FNL). After the incident the assailants stole heads of cattle and money from the local population.
