06/22/2004: The dean of law at Mosul University and her husband were found dead outside their home in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Layla Abdullah Saeed and her husband, Moneer Yahya Ali Al-Khairo were killed by unidentified militants. Reuters reported that she had received death threats because of voicing a moderate opinion.
