Incident Summary:

06/23/2004: Taliban militants claimed responsibility for a landmine explosion that killed at least five policemen and injured two others in violence-hit southern Afghanistan, near the Pakistan border. A police convoy hit a landmine in Spin Boldak district, some 460 kilometers (290 miles) south of the capital Kabul and 10 kilometers from the Pakistani border town of Chaman.
