Incident Summary:

10/24/2004: Edward Seitz, the Assistant Regional Security Officer (RSO) at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, died in a mortar (or possible rocket) attack at Camp Victory near Baghdad airport. An American soldier was also injured and several trailers were damaged in the incident. Seitz was a Special Agent for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the law enforcement and investigative branch of the State Department. He was believed to be the first U.S. diplomat killed after the March 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
