11/11/2004: Abdulrahman Mustafa, the Kurdish governor of Kirkuk survived an assassination attempt that occurred when a car bomb exploded as his convoy passed by. Six members of his security detail and eight civilians were injured in the blast. There were no claims of responsibility.
