Incident Summary:

11/29/2004: Two men on a motorcylce lobbed a grenade inside a passenger van that was approaching Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. One passenger was killed and at least three others were injured. The bus had defied a strike that was organized by the Trincomalee District Tamil Association. The strike was in protest of the inaction of authorities to support the Tamil-sponsored Heroes Week. A curfew was imposed in Trincomalee following the attack. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam are believed to be involved in the incident.
