Incident Summary:

05/16/2005: Two members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) attempting to attack the governor’s residence in Siirt province were thwarted by Turkish police. One perpetrator detonated a hand grenade, killing himself, while police shot and killed the other perpetrator. One officer was wounded in the attack. PKK members claimed responsibility for the attack.
