06/18/2005: Taliban militants are suspected of kidnapping thirteen police and government officials in Mian Nisheen in the Kandahar provinceof Afghanistan. Abdul Hakim Latifi, a spokesman for the group, claimed responsibility and said that the men would be tried in the Taliban court and executed if found guilty but released if found innocent. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown.
