10/19/2005: Shi i rebels kidnapped Irish journalist and Guardian reporter, Rory Carroll, in the Sadr City neighborhood of Baghdad, Iraq. Two of his Iraqi colleagues were injured in the kidnapping. Carroll was released two days later.
