01/23/2006: In Jaffna, Sri Lanka, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief in charge of co-coordinating activates of the movement. There were no claims of responsibility for the attack, but the LTTE blames government-backed paramilitaries.
