Incident Summary:

03/15/2006: Palestinian gunman from an unknown organization kidnapped and held captive nine foreigners in the Gaza Strip. Among the captives were international journalists and teachers. The kidnappings were in reprisal of an Israeli raid on a West Bank prison near Jericho. The incident concluded with the peaceful release of the captives by the gunmen the next day, on March 16, 2006. There were no casualties reported. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
