Incident Summary:

6/20/2006: Six members of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Fighting (GSPC) ambushed farmers on a remote road in Aguenni, Algeria. After firing on their vehicles, the assailants stabbed five farmers to death and subsequently set their bodies on fire. Three other farmers were able to escape without injury.

Additional Information The ambush took place around 5:00 PM. Two of the assailants were dressed in military fatigues. The names of the victims were Mohamed Berdaoui, Belkacem Berdaoui, Salah Aissa, Ahmed Aissa, and Omar Djir.
