Incident Summary:

08/03/2006: Mortar and artillery fire broke out between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) rebels and the Sri Lankan Army in Muttur, Sri Lanka. Civilians taking shelter in three separate schools in the area were caught in the crossfire. At least 15 civilians and one police officer were killed, and at least 20 people were injured.
