Incident Summary:

08/14/2006: On Monday two Fox News reporters were kidnapped by armed men in Gaza City, West Bank and Gaza. Steve Centanni from the United States and Olaf Wiig from New Zealand were taken from their news van and held in an abandoned garage, while their driver, who was Palestinian, and two other journalists were let go. The kidnappers forced Centanni and Wiig to make a video converting to Isalm. They were then released unharmed on August 27, 2006, after 13 days in captivity. A group called the Holy Jihad Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack. In 2011 the U.S. State Department attributed responsibility to the Army of Islam.
