Incident Summary:

10/02/2006: About 70 militants attacked the Shell company in Nigeria’s southern Rivers State to demand the release of Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, the imprisoned leader of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force (NDPVF). The Joint Revolutionary Council claimed the responsibility for the attack. 14 Nigerian soldiers were killed and 25 contractors were missing.
